Diwali around the Corner

DIWALI! It is associated with lights and illumination and hence aptly called as the Festival of Lights everywhere. Diwali is symbolized with lighting up the houses with stunning diyas and candles. As everyone knows that exchanging of gifts is an age old tradition in Diwali. It is the time where people meet their loved ones, relatives and friends and gifts are considered a token of love and good wishes. Diwali Diyas and Candles are one of the most beautiful and popular gift items during this festival.

This is the time when everyone gets a chance to just over dress and look stunning in Indian outfits. Anarkalis, salwar kameez, sarees, lehenga, kurta-pyjamas , you will see many more types of Indian outfits around during this festival. I love to take out all my heavy Indian wear and use it during this festival when I go around houses to meet relatives and friends and hog on some crazy amount of sweets and chocolates.

Today I thought of styling my western crop top with a skirt that I spotted in bandra local market with my mother’s jewellery and a gold dupatta! I realised that I can actually wear this outfit for one of the Diwali nights as it came out to be just so stunning. It gave me a royal feel and an illusion of a heavy lehenga. You can actually pair up different kinds of crop tops with skirts and dupattas this Diwali and make some style statements around with your own designing and styling session! So, technical you don’t need to spend a bomb on buying heavy lehengas this Diwali, instead go around the market and get some crepe skirts with matching dupattas and pair them up with your crop tops. Crop tops this season can also be used with sarees as a blouse. I will be blogging a look with a crop top and a saree so stay tuned!

I hope you all LOVE the idea! Enjoy the photographs below !
